Trusses for a warehouse, engineering

Trusses come in various shapes and materials. Wood and timber is increasingly being replaced by steel. Steel trusses are prefabricated and form a solid base for roof structures of houses, barns and warehouses, among other things.

Clear span trusses

Clear span trusses are often used as main trusses in constructions for barns and warehouses, but also for houses. With a clear span, no additional columns are used as support. A free span can easily reach 30 meters or more. A truss has a moment resisting corner connection, also called a knee joint. There is also a moment resisting apex connection. Thanks to these moment resisting connections there is no need for additional stability bracing in the span direction. Trusses are interconnected by coupling tubes or coupling sleeves and provided with wind bracing (stability bracing) so that the shed or hall will also be stable in the longitudinal direction.
